Rules

  1. The tournament will be conducted under American Legion rules except as amended herein.
  2. All tournament games are scheduled for seven innings, championship game included.
  3. RUN RULE:  Eight runs after five innings, fifteen runs after three innings, championship game included.
  4. No pitching limitations.
  5. Designated hitter for pitcher only.  No reentry of player removed from lineup.
  6. Courtesy runner at any time for the catcher (only).  The courtesy runner cannot be a player who is already in the lineup (even as DH) or has been removed from the lineup.
  7. Crash rule is in effect (UMPIRE'S DISCRETION !!).  All umpire's decisions are final. No protests will be considered.
  8. Practice fields are available at Dean Evans Stadium and South High School.  Priority at Dean Evans will be given to teams having games in the time slot immediately following the practice time period (i.e., teams playing at 11:45 am will have priority during the 9:00 am time frame).
  9. There will be no Time Limit.
  10. Should a game to tied at the end of seven innings of play, the international tie-break rule shall be utilized. (The ninth batter scheduled to hit in the inning shall begin the inning as a runner at second base.) Exception: Semi-final and championship games.
  11. If any teams have identical won-loss records after pool play, seeding for the elimination bracket play will be determined by the following tie-breaker system. (Note: if the “More Than 2-Team Tie” criteria is required, the “2-Team Tie” criteria is disregarded and seeding is based, in order, upon items a, b, c and d of the “More Than 2-Team Tie” criteria.

  1. Home team in elimination tournament bracket play will be awarded to the team with the higher seeding from pool play competition. Home team for the championship games will be determined by coin flip. Salina teams will occupy third base dugout, regardless of home or visitor.
  2. Teams should report for each game at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Games will be started early when possible (15-20 minutes maximum). No infield will be permitted before games (City of Salina regulation to minimize wear and tear on the fields).
  3. The tournament committee reserves the right to disqualify teams or individuals for inappropriate behavior on or off the field. Please stress sportsmanship on the field and proper behavior in the motels, restaurants, etc. to your players, coaches and fans.
  4. Any tournament participant (coach, player or fan) ejected from a game by the umpires or tournament officials shall be required to leave the stadium for the duration of that game.
